2026 TAX UPDATE PART 1
At the conclusion of the program participants will have achieved the following learning objectives:
- Become current on selected legislation, cases, rulings, regulations that have occurred during 2026 as well as selected currently relevant topics.
- Recognize situations described in the program that may affect clients or their tax returns.
- Be able to describe those tax issues to clients.
- Develop appropriate responses or plans for such issues based on client circumstances.
Update Part 1 Topics:
- What’s new. An annual update on recent cases, regulations, and rulings.
- Remedies for worker misclassification
- Effect of taxpayer disability on statutes of limitation and what constitutes a disability
- New post office mailing rules and their effect on timely mailing for tax purposes
- Focus topics: short discussions of selected topics.
- Marijuana has been rescheduled by DEA from a Class 1 drug to a Class 3 drug. What does this mean for the marijuana business?
- Trump accounts may have had more guidance issued in 2026 than most other OBBBA provisions. This will provide an update to all.
- The ins and outs of client representation before the IRS.
